Gill Bradford meets Jim Knight MP

This meeting follows the questions raised by the EOA in the House of Commons back in January when the Minister responded on the support and training given to the exams office community.

As documented in earlier articles on the website clearly that valuable support provided by the NAA is targeted at the safe delivery of the exam system and not at areas related to individual jobs and roles.

The EOA was set up originally, not as a union, but to represent individual member's needs and to address these very issues.To some they may feel that the EOA is doing too little too late. Over the past few years the EOA has been building an organisation to front these issues and play an important role in securing a professional workforce that will benefit all our education community.

The whole discussion over the impact of re-grading of exams office personnel by local authorities has become more intense as the exam community draw closer and closer to the launch of the diploma in September 2008. Remember this will only directly effect 20% of the exams office community. However, we are all aware that greater engagement needs to be taken by the rest of the community if they are to be fully prepared for this next wave of involvement.

Listed below are just some of the events and activities the EOA has been involved in over the past few months in trying to provide independent representation for our community.
